Halfway through
the year already: so much to do, so little time!
We take this
opportunity to wish all our mature agers good luck with forthcoming
exams and hope all your assignments are topped with a ‘D’!
If you want a
welcome diversion, we have been approached to see if any of our
members would like to take part in a WA Screen Academy film being
shot on 16th, 17th or 18th June.
Filming is taking place at the Bayswater Waves Swimming Pool and you
would be expected to be available for full days to half days. Some
filming takes place in the pool (don’t know if this is literal –
think not) and some in a bus. If interested please email the
producer, Shelby Shaw, putting ‘Film Extras’ in the subject line.
The email address is shelby.shaw@westnet.com.au
Unfortunately,
our planned coffee morning for Joondalup did not eventuate this
semester but those held at Mount Lawley campus have been very
successful and proved the old adage that a problem shared is a
problem halved. During the study and examination weeks, we decided to
cease these morning get-togethers, but will re-commence on Wednesday,
18th June at ML until the end of the term. If anyone would
like to commit one hour a week to holding a coffee morning at JOO,
please make contact. There could be MA students on that campus who
would benefit from a chat with peers.
Sorry Bunbury, our plans to visit were scuppered by a last minute shift change (!), but we hope to see you in Semester 2.
